*** ELLISON WINS AT LAKESIDE ***
Earl Ellison won his first ABT title by defeating Bob Winke 240-177 at Brunswick Lakeside Bowl. Susan Sawyer opened the stepladder finals by defeating Karen Moore 227-184 and Don Trainor 178-155. Bob Winke then defeated Sawyer 223-203 to move into the title match against top seed Earl Ellison. Ellison started the match with a turkey to wipe out Winke's handicap advantage, then stayed clean the rest of the way to pull away to the final 240-177 victory.
Champion's Profile: Earl Ellison is 56 years old and employed as an Insurance Examiner. He is married to Kirsten and they have a 22-year-old son, Eric. Earl has been back in bowling for about 4 years after a long lay off, and currently bowls league at Town Hall Bowl. He has a high game of 300 and a 763 series to his credit. Earl was rolling a Track TKO drilled by Jim at J.B.'s Pro Shop. Paying closer attention to good health and nutrition tips has helped Earl to get back into bowling, and recent tips from Don Eskra, Tom Variola, and Jim Saffold have helped his mechanics. Earl thanked them for their help and also thanked his wife for her support. Earl said that part of his winnings would go to his wife with the rest being banked for future use. He also said that this week's shot matched up well with his game and equipment.
CONGRATULATIONS EARL!
