*** JONES WINS TITLE AT LAKEHURST ***

Georgia Jones won her first ABT title by defeating top seed David Buss 176-169 at Brunswick Lakehurst Bowl. The win was worth $2050.00, which included $950.00 from the Progressive Pot.

Charito Urban opened the stepladder finals by defeating Chuck Peters 199-189. Georgia Jones then eliminated Peters 191-174 and squeaked by Chuck Ravenscraft 181-179 to advance to the title match. The championship match was nip and tuck all the way, coming down to the 10th frame. Jones finished first and counted 20 in the tenth. Needing a mark to win, David Buss left the 3-5-6-9 bucket, which he chopped, allowing Jones to hang on for the 176-169 victory.

Champion's Profile: Georgia Jones is 55 years old and retired. She is single and has 3 grown children: Beverly, Tommie, and Barbara. Georgia has been bowling for about 30 years and currently bowls leagues at Brunswick Lakehurst and Sunset Bowl. She has a perfect game to her credit and a 675 high series. Georgia was rolling a Brunswick Combat Zone drilled by Kimo at Brunswick Lakehurst. Georgia said that many of her fellow bowlers have given her tips to help her game over the years. She thanked John Bizzell and all the spectators who cheered her on during the finals. Part of her winnings will go towards new equipment with the rest going into the bank. Georgia said that the ABT is great and so is Lakehurst Bowl since the remodeling.

CONGRATULATIONS GEORGIA!
