*** MORRISSEY ON TOP AT LAKEHURST***

Steve Morrissey won his first ABT Masters title by defeating top seed Rich Ponce 251-221 at Brunswick Lakehurst Bowl. The win was worth $4,500, which included $3,000 from the Progressive Pot.

James Dillon opened the stepladder finals by defeating Manros Nickens 214-164 before falling to David Moore 210-194. Morrissey then ousted Moore 214-197 to challenge the top seed. Morrissey strung a six-bagger in frames 3-8 to open a huge lead in this one. Ponce answered with 6 of a possible 7 strikes in the second half of the match, but it was too little, too late as Morrissey cruised to the final 251-221 score.

Champion's Profile: Steve Morrissey is 42 years old and employed as a Pressman at the 3X Copy Center in Libertyville. He is married to Rose and has been bowling for about 20 years. He currently bowls leagues at Elk Grove Bowl and Thunderbird. Steve has a high game of 297 and a high series of 767 to his credit. He was rolling a Columbia TI Boss drilled by Brian Chilcutt at Bill Spigner's Pro's Corner. Steve said that many bowlers have given him tips that have helped his game. He thanked the ABT staff, Brunswick Lakehurst Bowl, and his wife for all her support. Steve plans to use his winnings for the ABT Nationals in March. Steve said he enjoys the people and the competition in the ABT and he loves the Progressive Pot!

CONGRATULATIONS STEVE!
