*** SAWYER WINS AT ROLLING MEADOWS ***
Susan Sawyer won her first ABT title by surviving four rounds of match play at AMF Rolling Meadows. Susan qualified 8th for the top 12 finals and advanced by defeating Ice Whitaker 179-168, Linda Scaletta 183-180, and Mike Ceko III 198-174. Her opponent for the title was Tony Sokolowski, who qualified 12th and advanced with wins over Chuck Peters 195-188, Clyde Goodson 191-177, and Rob Jenels 208-175. The championship match was close all the way, coming down to the 10th and final frame. Susan finished first and struck in the 10th to put the pressure on Tony. Needing a double to win, Tony struck on his first shot but pulled the second shot high, leaving Susan with the title by the final score of 192-187.
Champion's Profile: Susan Sawyer is 22 years old and employed as a Customer Service Rep for Horton Insurance. She is single and has been bowling since age 8. She currently bowls league at Oak Forest Bowl and has a high game of 247 and a 638 series to her credit. Susan was using a Sapphire Zone drilled by Nate Brown at Tinley Park Lanes. Susan said that Mike Ceko III and Tom Sawyer have helped her to improve her game. CONGRATULATIONS SUSAN!
