*** PRUITT WINS FIRST AT ESPO'S ***
Dan Pruitt, Jr. won his first ABT Masters title by surviving 4 rounds of match play in our Easter Special at Espo's Country Lanes. Dan qualified 4th for the top 12 finals and advanced by defeating Vince Banks 258-220, Marvin Thedford 225-214, and Sheldon Mathis 226-203. His opponent for the title was Gordon Anderson, who qualified second then advanced with wins over David Palojarvi, Sr. 223-198 and Chad Pierce 254-186 after a bye in round one. Pruitt grabbed the early lead in the match, then extended the lead with a turkey in frames 6-7-8. Anderson closed the gap with doubles in the 6th & 7th and 9th and 10th frames, but Pruitt doubled again in the 10th to seal the victory by the final score of 247-218.
Champion's Profile: Dan Pruitt, Jr. is 46 years old and employed as an Assembler at Ford Motor Co. He is married to Mary and they have three children: Ebony, Marcel, and Rosalind. Dan has been bowling for 25 years and bowls leagues at King Bowl, Skyway Bowl, and Globe Bowl. His high game is 276 and his high series is 730. Dan was using a Pro Active Zone drilled by Joe at New Image Pro Shop. He credits Alfie Cohn and seniors bowlers at Park Manor as having helped him to improve his game. Dan thanked the ABT staff, Espo's staff, Jerome Woodfork, and all his supporters during the finals. Dan said that he has been bowling the ABT since our very first event and he absolutely loves it!

BTD: In the Beat the Director Match, Ed Mousseau defeated Gordon Anderson 179-152. Gordon received the $25 consolation award. The carryover for the next BTD now stands at $1,090.
Tournament Notes: Stephen Lewis was the winner of a pair of Bulls tickets from the House of Seagrams on Friday night.
