*** BANKS WINS TITLE AT SUNSET ***

Cheryl Banks won her first Classic title by defeating William Turman 171-160 at Sunset Bowl. Harry Carson opened the stepladder finals by defeating Lori Jensen 211-173. Carson then eliminated Larry Feinstein 219-181 before falling to Banks 195-159. The championship match was a close one. After five frames the match was dead even. Banks missed a spare opportunity in frame 6 while Turman struck to take a slight lead. Banks came roaring back with a double in frames 7 and 8 to retake the lead for good as she won by the final count of 171-160.

Champion's Profile: Cheryl Banks is 35 years old and single. She is employed as a Quality Control Supervisor for Fischer Paper. Cheryl has been bowling for 15 years and bowls leagues at Espo's Country Lanes and West Lanes. She has a high game of 288 and a 716 high series. She was using a Storm El Niņo drilled by Joe Bacagaluppi at Back to Basics Pro Shop in Elgin. Cheryl said that John Hobscheid has helped her game by getting her to stay more focused and not drop the ball. She thanked John for his faith and support. She also thanked her family, the ABT staff, Sunset Bowl and all the spectators who cheered her on during the finals. Cheryl said her winnings would go in the bank for future tournaments. She also said it was the first time in six years that she made the cut at Sunset and that the shot was really good this time.

CONGRATULATIONS CHERYL!
