*** SCHUCK WINS AT MAGES ***

Butch Shuck won his first ABT title by defeating Tony Pezzulo 205-204 at Brunswick Mages Bowl. Pezzulo was trying to go from fifth to first as he worked his way past Jason Wojnar 209-176, Mark Clark 223-205, and Stan Culp 268-202 to set up the title match. Schuck had a 24-pin handicap advantage to start the match, but Pezzulo struck in four of the first five frames to wipe that out, and at the end of eight, it was Pezzulo up by 21. The ninth frame was Pezzulo's downfall, as he left the 4-6-7 split and missed all three pins with his second ball. That gave Schuck the room he needed as he doubled in the ninth and tenth to come from behind and win the match, 205-204.

Champion's Profile: Butch Schuck is 52 years old and employed as a Systems Analyst for Hewitt Associates. He also works part time as an Assistant Manager at Hawthorn Lanes. Butch is married to Lena and they have two grown children, Tim and Lena Marie. He has been bowling for 20 years and bowls league at Hawthorn Lanes. His high game is 298 and he has a high series of 735. Butch said that Bill Spigner and Brian Chilcutt have helped him to improve his game. He thanked his wife, Lena, for getting him started and supporting his bowling. He also thanked the ABT, Mages, and all his fellow league bowlers. Butch is planning a vacation to Maui with his winnings.

CONGRATULATIONS BUTCH!

Tournament Notes: Congratulations to Joey Borges for a perfect 300 game during qualifying.
