*** FERMAINT CAPTURES KICK OFF TITLE AT RYNISH ***
Domingo Fermaint, Jr. finally cashed for the first time in an ABT event
and he did it in a big way as he won our Kick Off Tournament at Rynish Bowling Center.
Domingo qualified third for the top eight finals and advanced by defeating Larry Feinstein
188-187 and Lenard Lewis 205-186. His opponent in the title match was Eric Taylor. Eric
qualified first and he advanced by defeating Michele Kesich 212-172 and David DeWitt
195-167. Eric faltered early in the championship match and Domingo took advantage to build
a 54-pin lead after five frames and he was able to cruise from there, winning the match by
the final score of 206-165.
Champion's Profile: Domingo Fermaint, Jr. is 48 years old and
employed as a school bus driver. He is married to Esther and they have two daughters,
Diana and Maribel, ages 23 and 20. Domingo currently bowls leagues at Sunset Bowl and
Brunswick Zone Lakehurst. He has a high game of 214 and wasn't sure about his best series.
Domingo was rolling a Columbia Beast drilled at Bertrand Lanes. Domingo said that Jim
Erickson has helped him to improve his game by correcting mistakes. He thanked his league
teammates and the spectators this weekend for all their support. He also thanked the ABT
for giving him the opportunity to compete. Domingo plans to invest his winnings.
CONGRATULATIONS DOMINGO!
Beat the Director: In the Beat the Director match, ABT Director Ed
Mousseau defeated Keith Bennett 189-187. Keith received the $25 Consolation Award. Roger
Partynski won the $25 Spectator Bonus Award. The carryover for the next BTD now stands at
$767.
Tournament Notes: The winners in our Membership Drive were drawn
this weekend. Bill Brown won the trip to Las Vegas; Jeff Rakowski won free entry in each
singles tournament through Memorial Day; Mark Beyer won a color TV; Garry Holman won a
bowling ball. Congratulations to all our winners and thanks to everyone who made this
drive a huge success.
