*** HOGAN WINS AT BERTRAND'S ***

Patrick Hogan won his first ABT Classic title by defeating Lloyd Laufer 226-194 at Bertrand Lanes. Whip Ibanez opened the stepladder finals by defeating Ron Harast 167-138. Gene Reynolds then defeated Ibanez 208-189 before falling to Patrick Hogan 192-185. Top seed Lloyd Laufer took the early lead in the championship match but missed 10 pins in the third and fifth frames, allowing Hogan to build a 25-pin lead after five frames. Laufer cut the lead to 15 pins after seven frames, but Hogan doubled in the ninth and tenth frames to put the match away as he won by the final score of 226-194.

Champion's Profile: Patrick Hogan is 45 years old and employed as a Property Evidence Officer for the Vernon Hills Police Department. He has been bowling for about ten years and currently bowls league at Bertrand Lanes. Patrick has a high game of 238 and a 583 high series as his personal bests. He was rolling a Brunswick Defense Zone drilled by GW Gregg at Gregg's Pro Shop in Zion. Patrick said that Ed Jones has helped him to work on consistency in his game. He thanked Ed and all his friends for their support during the finals. Patrick said that his winnings would be used for more ABT Tournaments. He also said that a straighter shot seemed to work better on this week's tournament condition.

CONGRATULATIONS PATRICK!

Tournament Notes: Congratulations to Gene Reynolds who rolled a nice 279+21=300 game to break a 285 pot worth $500. Nice bowling Gene! This week's winner in our Storm bowling ball raffle was Mike Kachurik.
