*** BASS CAPTURES FOURTH TITLE AT DEER PARK***
Bobby Bass won his fourth ABT Masters title by defeating Joe Bustamante
164-147 at Brunswick Zone Deer Park.
Terry Jessogne opened the stepladder finals by defeating David Palojarvi,
Sr. 268-185. Steve Taylor then ousted Jessogne 273-202 before falling to Bustamante
239-207. The championship match was a sight to behold with both bowlers combining for a
total of four strikes and five spares. Fortunately for Bass, he had three of each to give
him enough to come away with the 164-147 victory.
Champion's Profile: Bobby Bass is 48 years old and employed as a
College Recruiter. He is married to Geri and they have three grown children, Becky, Aaron,
and Howard. Bobby has been bowling for 40 years and currently bowls leagues at Brunswick
Zone Lakehurst and Espo's Country Lanes.
His high game is 300 and he has an 816 high series to his credit. He was rolling a
Columbia Titanium Messenger drilled by Lynn Corey at Star Pro Shop. Bobby said that Matt
Barker helped him stay focused this week and Jim Prescott pointed out some flaws in his
game during the semifinals. Bobby thanked his wife Geri and all his friends for their
support during the finals, as well as Rachael and Jayne from Health South for all their
help in re-habbing his injured shoulder. He also thanked Deer Park and the ABT for
providing bowlers with an opportunity to compete on a weekly basis. Bobby said his
winnings would be used to pay some bills and to take the crew out for dinner.
CONGRATULATIONS BOBBY!
Tournament Notes: This week's winner in our Storm Ball Raffle was Dan Annel.
