*** HAAS FIRST AT ZONE ***

Jack Haas won his first ABT Masters title at Brunswick Zone Algonquin by defeating Jeff Stanish 256-151 in a one-game roll-off after they tied at 194.

Frank Billy started the finals by defeating Glenn Hudson, Jr. 220-184. Billy then lost a squeaker to Alan Nanos 189-186. Jeff Stanish then ousted Nanos 254-187 to earn the right to take on top seed Jack Haas. The first match was tight all the way and it looked as though Stanish had it won when he spared in the 10th frame. Needing a seven count to win the match, Jeff pulled his shot high, dropping just six for the tie resulting in the one-game roll-off. Haas left a 5-7 split to start the roll-off then rattled off a seven-bagger to run away to the final 256-151 victory.

Champion's Profile: Jack Haas is 36 years old and employed as a construction worker. He is married to Kristi and they have three children: Alex, Chris, and Joe, ages 14, 13, and 10. Jack started bowling in Junior Leagues and currently bowls at Lakes Bowl in Round Lake. He has a high game of 289 and a 778 high series to his credit. Jack was rolling a Track Enforcer drilled by Joe Piagentini at Lakes Bowl. Jack said that Harvey Lee helped him to work on his game. He thanked his beautiful wife Kristi and all the ABT bowlers for their support. Jack said his winnings would be used for savings and whatever Kristi wants.

CONGRATULATIONS JACK!
