*** HYKES EARNS BLACK SHIRT AT ROLLING MEADOWS ***
Peter Hykes earned his "black shirt" by winning his
second ABT Masters title with a 244-176 victory over Brian Smith.
Peter started off the finals by defeating Tom Carter 254-212. He
then eliminated Tony Caraker 218-164 and Patrick Cooper 251-201 to challenge top
seed Brian Smith for the title. Smith never got lined up on the championship
pair and struggled throughout the match, allowing Hykes to pull away to the easy
244-176 victory.
Champion's Profile: Peter Hykes is 58 years old and
employed as a supervisor for Lake Book Manufacturing. He is married to Barbra
and they have three children: Timothy, Rodney, and Aubrey. Peter has been
bowling for 30 years and currently bowls league at Lombard Lanes. He has a high
game of 300 and a high series of 824 to his credit. Peter was using a Columbia
Cuda 2000 drilled by Joe Bacagaluppi at Back
to Basics Pro Shop inside Espo's
Country Lanes. Peter thanked his wife Barbra for her support along with
Ed, Lorraine, Rich, Binky, and the entire ABT staff for running great
tournaments. He also thanked AMF Rolling Meadows, especially Vicky, for a great
job in hosting the ABT tournaments throughout the year.
CONGRATULATIONS PETER!
