*** WRENN CLIMBS LADDER AT SUNSET ***

Bill Wrenn won his first ABT Classic title by going from fifth to first at Sunset Bowl. Bill started his climb by defeating Herman Roebke 205-197. Next up was Joe Farris who fell 221-183. Wrenn then eliminated Andrew Tomita 218-201 to earn his shot at top seed Debbie Tucker. Tucker had a 30-pin handicap advantage to start the match, but splits in the first two frames and a missed spare opportunity in the sixth allowed Wrenn to erase that advantage and take a 15-pin lead after six frames. Wrenn clinched the title with a four-bagger in frames 6-9 as he won going away by the final score of 214-166.

Champion's Profile: Bill Wrenn is 44 years old and employed as a Superintendent for Quality Craft Inc. He is married to Patti and they have three children: Krysta, Hannah, and Emma, ages 21, 9, and 16 months. Bill has been bowling for 15 years and bowls league at AMF Rolling Meadows and the ABT Vegas League at Espo's Country Lanes. He has a high game of 284 and a 718 high series to his credit. Bill was rolling a Storm LaNina drilled by Jeff Daggett at Strike Zone Pro Shop inside AMF Rolling Meadows. Bill said that Jeff Daggett and Karen Ellingsworth have helped him to break down his game and rebuild it from the ground up. Bill thanked his wife and daughters for their support of his bowling, Sunset Bowl and the ABT for having the tournament, and Mike Martenson and Diana Murphey for sitting through and watching four games of "Wrenn Ball". He also thanked the entire ABT staff for all the time they spend running the tournaments each week and added that the ABT is the fairest tournament around. Bill said that his winnings would be used to pay bills and to buy bikes for the whole family. Bill closed his interview by saying, "And Patti thought this wouldn't be a good weekend to bowl."

CONGRATULATIONS BILL!

Tournament Notes: Bill's win this week, coming on the heels of his third-place finish last week, has earned him his ABT diploma and he will now be testing his skills against the Masters. Nice bowling, Bill!
