***RIDDLE TOPS MASTERS AT FAIRHAVEN***
Rick Riddle won his first ABT Masters
title by defeating Matt Barker 231-219 at Fair Haven Lanes. Don Dahm opened the
stepladder finals by defeating Dennis Gregorich 265-201. Gary Knockel then
squeaked by Dahm 227-223. Rick Riddle then eliminated Knockel 267-216 to set up
the title match against top qualifier Matt Barker. Riddle came out of the gate
with the front four to quickly open a 25-pin lead but Barker refused to quit.
Barker finished up first and turkeyed in the 9th and 10th frames, forcing Riddle
to mark in the 10th. Rick's first ball looked good, but a stubborn 10-pin
refused to fall. With the title on the line Rick barely made the spare, then
filled it with a strike to win by the final score of 231-219.
Champion's Profile: Rick Riddle
