***TOMITA WINS FIRST AT BOLINGBROOK***
Andrew Tomita won his first ABT
Classic title by defeating Earmon Taylor 213-210 at AMF Bolingbrook Lanes.
Mary Williams opened the stepladder
finals by defeating Duane Garrett 199-177. She then eliminated Doug McGill
234-155. In match 3 Andrew Tomita struck out in the 9th and 10th frames to come
from behind to nip Williams 207-204 to earn his shot at top seed Earmon Taylor.
The championship match was nip and tuck from start to finish. Tomita was able to
produce better count on his marks in the last 3 frames and that was the
difference as he won by the final score of 213-210.
Champion's Profile: Andrew
Tomita is 34 years old and single. He is employed by Xerox Corporation. Andrew
has been bowling for 14 years and currently bowls leagues at Beverly Lanes and
Arlington Heights Lanes. He has a high game of 300 and a 756 series to his
credit. Andrew was rolling a Storm Lightning Flash drilled by Lynn Corey at Star
Pro Shop. He credits Lyle Zikes as having helped him to improve his game. Andrew
thanked the ABT staff and AMF Bolingbrook for having the tournament. He also
thanked his opponents during the finals for their sportsmanship. Andrew said his
winnings would be used to pay off some bills and buy some new equipment.
CONGRATULATIONS ANDREW!
