***POBANZ WINS FIRST AT STARDUST***
Brian Pobanz won his first ABT Masters
title with a 223-214 victory over Keith Garrett at Stardust Bowl.
Davey Rosen opened the stepladder
finals by defeating Hank Duncan 218-192. Brian Pobanz then defeated Rosen
222-142 and Curt Aemisegger 242-170 to advance to the title match against top
seed Keith Garrett. Pobanz was behind for most of the championship match, but a
4-bagger in frames 7-10 allowed him to come from behind to pull out the 223-214
victory.
Champion's Profile: Brian
Pobanz is 31 years old and employed as a Correctional Officer holding the rank
of Captain. He has been bowling for 23 years and bowls league at Guttormsen's
Rec Center in Kenosha, WI. Brian has a high game of 299 and a 771 high series to
his credit. He was using a 3D Offset Hammer drilled by Norb Wetzel at Norb's Pro
Shop. Brian said that his mother was his first coach, helping him learn to bowl
when he was younger. He thanked his family, Brian Kaddatz, Norb Wetzel, and the
people of Guttormsen's who talked him into coming out to bowl the ABT. Brian
said his winnings would be used for a vacation.
CONGRATULATIONS BRIAN!
