***LEE EARNS BLACK SHIRT AT THUNDERBIRD***
Harvey Lee earned his "black
shirt" by winning his second ABT Masters title at Thunderbird Lanes. Harvey
qualified 4th for the stepladder finals and started his climb to the title by
defeating Ron Lundberg 199-183. He then eliminated Jim Mitchell 281-232 and John
Papeck 210-187 to advance to the championship match against top seed David
Palojarvi, Jr. Harvey was clean through five in the title match, while David
left a rail in frame 3 and missed a 10-pin in frame 4, giving Harvey a 35-pin
lead after 5 frames. David rallied late in the match but it was too little, too
late as Harvey won by the final score of 222-204.
Champion's Profile: Harvey Lee
is 61 years old and employed as a Draftsman for Gewalt-Hamilton Company. He is
married to Jane and they have one child, John, age 25. Harvey has been bowling
for 43 years and does his league bowling at Lakes Bowl. He has a high game of
300 and a 759 high series to his credit. Harvey was rolling a Track Assassin
drilled by Joe Pagiantini at Lakes Bowl. Harvey credits his son, John, as having
helped him to improve his game. He thanked the ABT and Thunderbird Lanes for
holding the tournament and John Lee and Rick Riddle for their support during the
finals. Harvey said his winnings would be used for a new ball and to pay some
bills. He also pointed out that Thunderbird is the same house where his son John
won his title.
CONGRATULATIONS HARVEY!
