***MOSLEY WINS FIRST AT ESPO'S***
Melvin Mosley, Jr. won his first ABT
Classic title by defeating Lisa Partynski 234-216 at Espo's Country Lanes.
Jesus Ramirez opened the stepladder
finals by defeating Butch Scaletta 202-183. Lisa Partynski then defeated Ramirez
225-223 and Bob Divine 192-178 to earn her shot at top seed Melvin Mosley, Jr.
In the title match Lisa used a turkey in frames 2-4 to wipe out Melvin's
handicap advantage and the match stayed even through 7 frames. Melvin then came
on with a 4-bagger in frames 8-10 and Lisa was unable to match him as he pulled
away to the final score of 234-216.
Champion's Profile: Melvin
Mosley, Jr. is 36 years old and employed as a Fork Lift Operator for Watkins
Motor Line. He is married to Mary and they have a 7-year-old son named Shaquille.
Melvin has been bowling for 6 years and currently bowls in the ABT Vegas League
at Espo's. He has a high game of
264 and a 630 high series to his credit. Melvin was using a Track Enforcer and a
Columbia Cuda 2000 drilled by Joe Bacagaluppi at Back
to Basics Pro Shop inside Espo's. Melvin credits all the people at
Espo's for tips and advice that have helped him to improve his game. He thanked
them for all their help and God for allowing him to win. Part of Melvin's
winnings will be used for bills with the rest going into the bank. Melvin said
that the ABT and Espo's are both great and people who complain about lane
conditions there need to spend some time working on their game.
CONGRATULATIONS
melvin!
Tournament Notes: Congratulations to Paul Donisch who won
$500 by breaking a 285 Pot this week. Nice bowling, Paul!
