Alma Stewart won her first ABT Classic title in our Thanksgiving event at AMF Rolling Meadows. Alma was the top qualifier for the top 12 finals, which earned her a bye in the first two rounds of match play. In round 3 she defeated Amanda Culp 230-209 to advance to the championship match. Her opponent for the title was Michael Jozwiak. Michael qualified 10th and advanced by defeating John Hobscheid 204-198, Donald Kaskadden 255-228, and Michelle Wenzel 258-208. Alma had a 23-pin handicap advantage to start the match, but Michael managed to cut the lead to 16 after six frames. A missed 10-pin in frame 7 proved to be Michael's downfall as Alma hung on to win by the final score of 207-201.
Champion's Profile: Alma Stewart is 23 years old and engaged to Jerry Henderson. She has two children, Salest and Tylor, ages 5 and 3. Alma started bowling just over a year ago and currently bowls league at Orland Bowl. She was rolling a Storm El Nino Wrath drilled by Jim at Dolton Bowl. Alma said that her fiancée, Jerry, has been helping her with her game. She thanked him and her kids as well as her Aunt Jan for all their support. She also thanked the ABT and AMF Rolling Meadows for having the tournament. Alma said that her winnings would be used for Christmas shopping.

BtD: In the Beat the Director match, ABT Director Ed Mousseau defeated Bill A. Brown 201-166. Bill received the $25.00 Consolation Award. Judi Woods won the $25.00 Spectator Bonus Award. The carryover now stands at $1,210.
