***Bissias wins at
woodfield***
James Bissias won his first ABT
Classic title by defeating James Cradduck 219-173 at Woodfield Lanes. Mike Fagan
opened the stepladder finals by defeating Ron Levine 233-166 and Larry Helton
198-195. James Cradduck then defeated Fagan 198-174 to challenge top seed James
Bissias. The title match was close for seven frames, but Bissias turkeyed in
frames 8-10 to pull away to the final 219-173 victory.
Champion's Profile: James
Bissias is 22 years old and employed by the Park District. He is engaged to
Kelley and has been bowling for about 10 years. James currently bowls league at
Lombard Lanes and has a high game of 288 and a 714 series to his credit. He was
using a Columbia Messenger and a Track Stomp drilled by Leon Buroff at Bowlers
Corner Pro Shop, inside Lombard Lanes. James said that his father, Dean Bissias,
and Rich and Andy Caduto have helped him to improve his game. James thanked the
ABT and Woodfield Lanes, adding that this was the last place where he would have
expected to win. His winnings will be used to pay off his fiancée's engagement
ring.
CONGRATULATIONS james!
