Cary Vincent won his first ABT Masters title with a 216-204 victory over Carmelo Rosa at Stardust Bowl.
Jeff Rakowski opened the stepladder finals by defeating Harvey Lee 212-183. David Palojarvi, Jr. then defeated Rakowski 238-158 before falling to Cary Vincent 210-197. Top seed Carmelo Rosa led the title match for the first seven frames, but Cary Vincent strung a four-bagger in frames eight through ten to win by the final score of 216-204.
Champion's Profile: Cary Vincent is 32 years old and single. He is employed as a bakery supervisor for Entenmanns. Cary has been bowling for ten years and currently bowls league at Lombard Lanes. His high game is 300 and he has a 742 high series to his credit. Cary was using a Columbia Rock drilled by Leon Burhoff at Bowlers Corner Pro Shop inside Lombard Lanes. Cary said that John Sypniewski has been helping him to work on his game. He thanked the ABT staff and Stardust Bowl for having the tournament. Cary said his winnings would be used for taxes.
BTD: In the Beat the Director Match, Jeff Rakowski defeated ABT Director Ed Mousseau 193-161 to win $621. Rick Wunder won the $25 Spectator Bonus Award.
