Jason Wojnar won his first ABT Masters title by defeating Curt Aemisegger 221-202 at Rynish Bowling Center.
Brian Vandenboom opened the stepladder finals by defeating John Maropoulos 189-167. Kermit Crowe then eliminated Vandenboom 248-210 before falling to Curt Aemisegger 273-207. The championship match was close with Wojnar clinging to a two-pin lead after seven frames. Wojnar turkeyed in frames 8-10 while Curt left a 10-pin in the 9th that broke up what would have been a four-bagger, allowing Jason to pull away to the final 221-202 victory.
Champion's Profile: Jason Wojnar is 21 years old and single. He is employed as the Vice President of the Big-Saw Corporation. Jason has been bowling for 17 years and bowls league at Poplar Creek Bowl. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 802 to his credit. Jason said that Mark Clark has been coaching and teaching him, helping him to improve his game. He thanked his dad, Bill Wojnar, and the rest of the family for all their support. He also thanked the ABT and Rynish for having the tournament and Tom Carter for drilling great equipment. Jason plans to use his winnings to expand the corporation. He dedicated his win to his dad for Father's Day.
