David Palojarvi, Sr. won his first ABT Masters title in our Super Bowl tournament at Lombard Lanes. David was the top qualifier for the top twelve finals, earning him a bye in the first two rounds of match play. In round three, he got by John Scaletta 167-162 to advance to the championship match. His opponent for the title was Carmelo Rosa. He qualified third and advanced by defeating Jerry Marrs 202-187, Mike Martenson 219-185, and Mike Rimkavitch 210-202. The championship was even for the first six frames, but Rosa missed spare opportunities in the seventh and eighth frames. Palojarvi jumped on the chance as he doubled to take control of the match, going on to win by the final score of 245-199.
