Jon Winke won his first ABT Classic title by defeating top seed Kelly Vasquez 238-187 at Brunswick Zone Thunderbird.

David Snow opened the stepladder finals by defeating Paul Johnson 230-204. Jon Winke then eliminated Snow 221-161 and Reid Flammang 214-170 to advance to the title match. Kelly Vasquez never had a chance in the championship match as Winke started with the front six strikes and cruised from there.

Champion's Profile: Jon Winke is 46 years old and employed as a Chef Concierge. He is married to Raquel and they have six children: Alando, Sean, Ivan, Jon Jr., Raquel, and Cheri. Jon has been bowling for 30 years and currently bowls league at Fox Bowl. He has a high game of 268 and a 665 high series to his credit. Jon was using a Purple Hammer drilled by Joe Bacagaluppi at Back to Basics Pro Shop, inside Espo's Country Lanes. Jon said that his nephew, Bob Winke, and Jim Trentadue have helped him to work on his game. Jon thanked Jim Trentadue for giving him the ball he was using to win and his brother Bob for driving him to the tournament. Jon's winnings will be used for a trip to Puerto Verde.
