Tamara Bell won her first Masters
title and second overall by defeating Kim Adams 217-206 at Brunswick Zone
Thunderbird.
Bobby Bass opened the stepladder
finals by defeating John Papeck 238-197. Tamara Bell then ousted Bass 209-186
and John Lee 242-227 to earn her berth in the championship match against top
seed Kim Adams. Kim left a couple of rails in the first five frames while Tamara
stayed clean to open a 29-pin lead. Kim then turkeyed in frames six through
eight to cut the margin to ten. Tamara finished up first and counted 19 pins in
the tenth, leaving Kim with a slight chance to win. Needing a turkey to win, Kim
left a stubborn ten pin on her first shot and the match was over.
Champion's Profile: Tamara Bell
is 31 years old and single. She is employed as a loan officer and has been
bowling for seven years. Tamara currently bowls at Lombard Lanes and has a high
game of 290 and a 734 high series. She was rolling a Columbia Rock On drilled by
Leon Buroff at Lombard Lanes. Tamara credits Leon Buroff and Greg Zicha as
having helped her to improve her game. She thanked all the spectators for their
support, the ABT for running the tournament, and Brunswick Zone Thunderbird for
hosting the event. Tamara said that her winnings would be saved for the ABT Las
Vegas Nationals in April.
CONGRATULATIONS
tamara!
Tournament Notes:
