Jon Emmerich won his first ABT Classic title in our Thanksgiving event at AMF Rolling Meadows. Jon qualified tenth for the top twelve finals and advanced by defeating Rob Jenels 232-224, Rich Manno 213-184, and Tony Denos 234-210. His opponent in the championship match was David West, who qualified fifth and advanced with victories over Bob Winke 251-175, Chuck Peters 262-193, and Terysa Miller 236-233. David doubled to take the early lead in the title match, then got run over by Jon, who proceeded to rattle off a nine-bagger in frames two through ten to run away with the final score of 280-181.
Champion's Profile: Jon Emmerich is 33 years old and single. He is employed as a pressman for Suburban Press. Jon has been bowling for 15 years and currently bowls leagues at Lakes Bowl and Metro Bowl. He has a high game of 268 and a 705 high series to his credit. Jon was rolling a Storm Bolt drilled by Jeff Daggett at Strike Zone Pro Shop inside AMF Rolling Meadows. Jon said that lessons from Karen Ellingsworth have helped him to improve his game. He thanked Scott Schinler for getting him started in ABT, the ABT staff, AMF Rolling Meadows, and all the spectators who supported him during the finals. Jon said his winnings would be spent on Christmas.
