*** partynski wins third
title ***
Roger Partynski won his third ABT
Masters title by defeating Gary Damato 246-203 at AMF Rolling Meadows. Partynski
qualified third for the top twelve finals and advanced by defeating Cheryl
Parquette 213-185, Rick Slusin 277-187, and Anthony Calarco 205-189. Damato
qualified fourth and he advanced by defeating Mike Rimkavich 257-207, Tim Culp
202-196, and David Backstrom 205-194. In the title match, Damato started with a
double but left rails in the third and fifth frames. That sealed his fate as
Partynski fired a four-bagger in frames two through five to build a commanding
lead. Damato cut the lead with a turkey in frames seven through nine, but
Partynski closed the match with three strikes of his own in the tenth, winning
by the final count of 246-203.
