Pete Gochis won his first ABT Masters title by defeating Peter Hykes 226-207 at Bertrand Lanes. In match one of the stepladder finals, Pat Cornell 258 defeated Tamara Bell 214 and Rob Cunningham 189. In match two, Peter Hykes 214 defeated Pat Cornell 203 and Harvey Lee 182. In match three, Peter Hykes 236 eliminated Tony Mula 226 and Ron Sereyka 193 to advance to the championship match against top seed Pete Gochis. The title match was close throughout, but in the end it was Gochis with just enough to claim the title by the final score of 226-207. Champion's Profile: Pete Gochis is 30 years old and single. He is the proprietor of Sunset Lanes. Pete has been back in bowling for about five years and bowls leagues at Sunset and Fair Haven Lanes. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 758 to his credit. Pete was rolling a Columbia Rock On, drilled by Jim Erickson at Sunset Lanes. Pete said that his dad, Jim Gochis, and Jim Erickson have helped him to develop his game. He thanked them both for all their help and support. He also thanked the ABT, saying that this was a very profitable week for him. |
