Tracy Ford won his first ABT Masters title
and second title overall with a 259-219 victory over Anthony Weidenfeller
at Wheaton Bowl. In match one of the eight-man stepladder finals, David
Palojarvi, Jr. 234 defeated Larry Thompson 219/63.8 and John Undesser
219/30.2. In match two, David Palojarvi, Jr. 201/30.6 defeated Hank Duncan
201/29.6 and Dan Sloan 197. In match three, Tracy Ford 234 defeated Dave
Palojarvi, Jr. 216 and Jim Pennino 200 to advance to the title match
against top seed Anthony Weidenfeller. Ford took control of the
championship match right from the get-go, striking in six of the first
seven frames to build a huge lead. and Weidenfeller never had a chance to
recover.
Champion's Profile: Tracy Ford is 26
years old and single. He is employed as a radiation therapist and has been
bowling for about ten years. Tracy currently bowls leagues at Broadview
Bowl and Lombard Lanes and has a high game of 300 and a 784 series as his
personal bests. He was using an Ebonite Tornado drilled at the Five Star
Pro Shop in Hillside. Tracy credits Don Bart with helping him to work on
his game. He thanked God, his parents, his girlfriend Angela McCrum, the
ABT staff, Wheaton Bowl, and Ernie Manno. Tracy said his winnings would be
used for Christmas. |
