*** peters captures third title ***

Chuck Peters won his third ABT Classic title in our Kick-Off event at Espo's Country Lanes. Chuck qualified sixth for the top twelve finals, then defeated Mario Santostefano 228-220, Jason Workman 205-184, and Jim Trentadue 249-180 to advance to the championship match. His opponent for the title was Mike Martenson, Jr., who qualified third and advanced by defeating Ice Whitaker 223-203, Jack Young 213-187, and Frank Oberlander 176-153. Mike had a 20-pin handicap advantage to start the match, and he maintained that lead for the first six frames, but a split in frame seven allowed Chuck to cut the lead to just eight pins. Chuck then doubled in the eight and ninth frames to take his first lead in the match. Mike still had a chance to win, needing a turkey in the tenth frame to win by one pin. Mike got the first strike, but his second shot was high and the match was over, with Chuck winning by the final score of 214-205.

Champion's Profile: Chuck Peters is 45 years old and employed as a tool and die surface grinder for Apex Tool Works, Inc. He is married to Diane and they have seven children, ranging in age from nine to 25. Chuck has been bowling since age five and currently bowls leagues at Rolling Meadows, Lakes, 3D, Arlington, and Hawthorn Lanes. He has a high game of 290 and a 754 high series to his credit. Chuck was rolling a Brunswick Zone HPC drilled by Jeff Daggett at Strike Zone Pro Shop, inside AMF Rolling Meadows. Chuck said that Jeff Daggett has helped him to work on his game. He thanked the ABT, Espo's, and Strike Zone Pro Shop. Chuck said his winnings would be used to pay Christmas bills.

CONGRATULATIONS Chuck!

BTD: In the Beat the Director Match, Lisa Partynski defeated Ed Mousseau 222-192 to win $317. Judi Woods won the $25 Spectator Bonus Award.
