Ray Bartman won his first ABT Chicagoland title by defeating Don Koenig 194-160 at Brunswick Zone Lakehurst. In match one of the eight-person stepladder finals, Catrice Moton 221 defeated Nick Oswald 198 and Kathy Atkins 184. In match two, Angel Asuncion 211 defeated Nancy Lhotak 182 and Catrice Moton 166. In match three, Ray Bartman 202 defeated Angel Asuncion 190 and Kathy Lhotak 187 to advance to the title match against top seed Don Koenig. Don had difficulty with his spare shooting in the title match, while Ray missed only once, allowing him to roll to the 194-160 victory. Champion's Profile: Ray Bartman is "over 50" and retired. He is married to Jeanne and has been bowling since 1955. Ray currently bowls league at Riviera Lanes in Milwaukee. He was using a Brunswick HPH and Monster, drilled by Dewey Albright at B&G Golf and Bowling. Ray said that Mike Martin has helped him to work on his game. He thanked Mike and Kathy Martin, Kathy Bell, and Bobby Wright for their support. He also thanked the staffs of Brunswick Zone Lakehurst and the ABT.
