Vincent Santucci earned his "black shirt" by
winning his second ABT Classic title in this week's tournament at
Brunswick Zone Thunderbird.
In match one of the finals, Jack White 208
defeated Janet Kulovitz 193 and Mike Martenson, Jr. 179. In match two,
Joshua Wastag 216 defeated Jack White 213 and Kristen Cornelius 192. In
match three, Vincent Santucci 197 defeated Joshua Wastag 179 and Reid
Flammang 174 to advance to the championship match against top seed Viki
Steuer. Viki had a 16-pin handicap advantage to start the match, but a
couple of splits for Viki in the first half of the match and some solid
bowling by Vince allowed him to take the lead after five frames. Vince
padded his lead with a double in frames seven and eight. Viki struck out
in the tenth but it was too little, too late as Vince went on to win by
the final score of 208-183.
Champion's Profile: Vincent Santucci
is 63 years old and employed as a Machine Adjustor for the Mail Well
Compandy. He is married to Paula and they have three grown children:
James, Angelo, and Vincent, Jr. Vincent has been bowling for 18 years and
currently bowls league at Waveland Bowl. He has a high game of 279 and a
710 high series to his credit. Vincent thanked his friends and family for
their support and his wife Paula for letting him bowl as much as he wants.
He also thanked the ABT and Brunswick Zone Thunderbird for having the
tournament. Vincent said that his winnings would go back into bowling with
the hopes of capturing title number three.
CONGRATULATIONS vincent!
