Becky Rakowski earned her "Black Shirt" by winning her second ABT Classic title at AMF Rolling Meadows. In Match one of the top eight stepladder finals, Diana Murphey 230 defeated Nancy Packard 190 and Veronica Page 186. In match two, Whip Ibanez 245 defeated Diana Murphey 215 and Paula Schultz 208. In match three, Larry Robertson 238 defeated Gabriel Alvarado 181 and Whip Ibanez 171 to advance to the title match against top seed Becky Rakowski. It took two games to decide the championship as game one ended in a tie at 198, forcing a one-game roll-off. The roll-off game was extremely close again, but in the end it was Rakowski with just enough to edge Robertson by the final score of 189-178. Champion's Profile: Becky Rakowski is 48 years old and employed as a bookkeeper for JSL Properties. She is married to Jeff and they have three children: Dave, Sandy, and Tom. Becky has been bowling for five years and currently bowls leagues at Rynish and Bertrand's. She has a high game of 237 and a 600 high series to her credit. Becky was using a 3D Hammer drilled by GW Gregg. She said that Mel Apilado has helped her with her game. Becky thanked her husband Jeff, AMF Rolling Meadows, and the ABT Staff. Her winnings will be used for home improvements. Becky said that she learns a lot bowling in the ABT each week.
