Earl Lipscomb won his first ABT Classic title by defeating Greg Gates 199-192 at Glenwood Bowl.

In match one of the top-eight stepladder finals, Paul Johnson 226 defeated Michael Aramburu 198 and Rick Wunder 196. In match two, Johnson 218 defeated Rich Ebel, Jr. 196 and Rodney Julun 185. In match three, Greg Gates 220 defeated Johnson 207 and Ryan Rickert 170 to advance to the title match against top seed Earl Lipscomb. Spare shooting proved to be the difference in the championship match as Gates missed three times and Lipscomb only once, allowing Earl to claim his first title in his first ABT event.

Champion's Profile: Earl Lipscomb is 30 years old and married to Lynnette. He is employed as a truck driver for J.B. Hunt. Earl has been bowling for six years and bowls league at Lakewood Bowl.
