James Irons won his first ABT Masters title with a 235-214 victory over Russ Krueger at Glenwood Bowl. It was James' second ABT title having previously won in our Classic division. In match one of the eight-man stepladder finals, Neal Mestling 272 defeated John F. Scaletta 266 and Robert Collins III 211. In match two, Dan Sloan 241 defeated Mike Rimkavich 227 and Neal Mestling 222. In match three, James Irons 243 defeated Mario Santostefano 211 and Dan Sloan 188. In the title match, Irons struck in six of the first seven frames to forge a 52-pin lead. Krueger came on at the end but it wasn't enough as Irons held on for the final 235-214 victory. Champion's Profile: James Irons is 31 years old and employed as a truck driver for Torvac. He is married to Sequoia and they have a three-year-old daughter named Jatrelle. James has been bowling for 20 years and bowls leagues at Lakewood, Dolton, and Burr Oak Bowl. His high game is 300 and he has an 814 high series to his credit. James was using a Brunswick Monster drilled by Joe at Dolton Bowl. James thanked his friends from ABT for their support during the finals. His winnings will go towards bills and savings. James hasn't bowled much with the ABT recently, but closed his interview by saying, "It feels good to be back." congratulations james!Tournament Notes: Congratulations to Sal Suarez who won $366 by breaking a 295 pot with his first perfect 300 game.
