Jack Haas earned his "black shirt" by winning his second ABT Masters title in our Match Play Special at Brunswick Zone Deer Park. Jack survived two rounds of match play semifinals to advance to the 4-man round robin finals against Dwight Bergner, J.S. Scaletta, and Hank Duncan. Jack rolled a 633 handicap series in the round robin and won two out of three matches, giving him 60 bonus pins for a total of 693 to outdistance Dwight Bergner, who finished second at 657. Champion's Profile: Jack Haas is 38 years old and works as a carpenter for Haas Construction. He has a twelve-year-old son named Alex. Jack has been bowling for 32 years and currently bowls leagues at Fairhaven and Lakes Bowl. His high game is 290 and he has a high series of 779. Jack was using a Track EMB drilled by Shirley Garmes at the Hall of Fame Pro Shop at Fairhaven Lanes. He credits Jim Gochis and Harvey Lee as having helped him with his game. Jack thanked the ABT and Brunswick Zone Deer Park for having the event and the spectators that supported him during the finals. His winnings will be used for the ABT Vegas Nationals in October. Jack said that he really enjoyed this format and the sport condition. It was Jack's first time on the sport shot and he loved the challenge. congratulations jack!
