Mike Meifert won his second ABT Chicagoland Masters title by defeating Bill Brown 258-209 at Suburbanite Bowl. In match one of the stepladder finals, Gordon Brown 239 defeated Gordon Bradford 203 and Hank Duncan 176. In match two, Gordon Brown 248 defeated Tom Carter 195 and Chris Hrischuk 193. In match three, Mike Meifert 240 defeated John F. Scaletta 195 and Gordon Brown 184 to advance to the title match against top seed Bill Brown. Mike Meifert started the championship match with the front five strikes to open a commanding lead. Bill Brown came back a little in the second half of the match, but Meifert closed it out with a four-bagger in the ninth and tenth frames. Champion's Profile: Mike Meifert is 30 years old and employed as a parts rep for Witco. He is married to Corinne and they have a 12-year-old daughter named Kayla. Mike has been bowling since age six and currently bowls leagues at Classic and Riviera Lanes. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 837 to his credit. Mike was using a Storm Ultra Hot drilled by John Megna. Mike thanked the ABT staff and directors for a well-run tournament.
