*** weidenfeller wins first title ***

Anthony Weidenfeller won his first ABT Masters title by defeating Glenn Hudson, Jr. 242-216 at Brunswick Zone Lakehurst.

In match one of the stepladder finals, Walter Yandell 220 defeated Charles Chatt 204 and Glen Hudson, Sr. 191. In match two, John Lee 255 defeated Walter Yandell 223 and John Maropoulos 184. In match three, Anthony Weidenfeller 229 defeated John Heath 221 and John Lee 192 to advance to the title match against top seed Glenn Hudson, Jr. Hudson came out of the gate with a five-bagger but Weidenfeller hung tough and when Hudson left a rail in frame six, Weidenfeller found himself behind by just eight pins. The turning point came in frame eight as Hudson missed a 10-pin, allowing Weidenfeller to take his first lead of the match. Hudson missed another 10-pin in the tenth and Weidenfeller struck out to account for the final 242-216 victory.
