John Manos won his second ABT Masters title by defeating Tony Caraker 244-230 at Stardust Bowl. In match one of the eight-man stepladder finals, Chris Regas 262 defeated Paul Bober 259 and Sal Suarez 203. In match two, Jeff Rakowski 235 defeated Chris Regas 228 and Dave Palojarvi, Jr. 205. In match three, Tony Caraker 225 defeated Jeff Rakowski 209 and David Backstrom 156 to advance to the title match against top seed John Manos. The championship match was an exciting one to watch as both bowlers struck often. Each time Caraker challenged, Manos answered, and Manos won by the final score of 244-230. Champion's Profile: John Manos is 46 years old and employed as a Bar Manager. He has three children: Amber, Jacki, and Jenny, ages 16, 20, and 22. John has been bowling for 36 years and currently bowls league at Wood Dale Bowl. His high game is 290 and he has a high series of 735 to his credit. John was using a Storm El Nino drilled by Brian Chilcutt at Hawthorn Lanes. John attributes his bowling abilities to a lot of hard work and practice. He thanked the ABT for having a great tournament and Stardust Bowl for a great shot this week. John said his winnings would go towards a down payment on a house for his daughter. congratulations john!
