Wayne Baasie won his second ABT Classic title by defeating Susan Maddox 214-199 at Brunswick Zone Lakehurst.

In match one of the stepladder finals, Charles Carpenter 230 defeated Jim Siddons 226 and Debbie Tucker 172. In match two, Susan Maddox 210 defeated Michael Love 203 and Charles Carpenter 191. In match three, Susan Maddox 196 defeated Allan Gery 180 and Eric Seebacher 179 to advance to the title match against top seed Wayne Baasie. Susan had a 36-pin handicap advantage to start the championship match, but Wayne kept chipping away and by the eighth frame, he had cut the margin to eight pins. Susan opened in the ninth and tenth frames and Wayne took advantage of the opportunity, staying clean to win by the final score of 211-199.

Champion's Profile: Wayne Baasie is 36 years old and single. He is employed as a maintenance man for Marriott. Wayne has been bowling for ten years and bowls league at Lakehurst. He has a high game of 258 and a 656 high series to his credit. Wayne was using a Storm Trauma drilled by Jim Erickson, who has been helping Wayne to improve his game. He thanked Tracey Vinson and the Sunday morning team from Squeaky Clean for their support. Wayne plans to use his winnings for the Las Vegas Nationals in March.
