Ed Seliga won his second ABT Masters title
by defeating Stephen Lewis 270-224 at Bertrand Lanes.
Tim Culp opened the stepladder finals by
defeating Jack Haas 224-191. Culp then eliminated John Scaletta 204-191.
In match three, Stephen Lewis started with the front nine to dispose of
Culp 288-204 and advance to the title match against top seed Ed Seliga. In
the title match, Seliga started with the front seven to open a huge lead
against Lewis. Lewis tightened the match a little with a four-bagger in
frames five through eight, but Seliga closed it out with a double in the
ninth and tenth frames, winning by the final score of 270-224.
Champion's
Profile: Ed Seliga is 43 years old and employed as a quality manager
for Abbott Labs. He is single and has been bowling for 27 years. Ed
currently bowls league at Guttormsens Recreation Center in Kenosha,
Wisconsin. His high game is 300 and he has an 811 high series to his
credit. Ed was using a Track Freak which he drilled himself. He credits
Dick Beltoya as having helped him with his game. Ed thanked all his
friends that cheered him on during the finals and the ABT and Bertrands
for having the tournament. Ed said he would bank his winnings for future
events.

Congratulations to Tom Grzyb and Jack Haas, who each won $500 by breaking
295 Pots. Jack's win came on his way to his first perfect game. Nice
bowling, guys!
