*** workman wins at sunset***

Jason Workman won his first ABT Classic title by defeating Tom Bendull 220-188 at Sunset Bowl.

Lisa Partynski opened the stepladder finals by defeating Jose G. Lopez 181-177. She then eliminated Catherine Apilado 257-170 before falling to Tom Bendull 211-202. Tom Bendull started the championship match with a double to take the early lead, but he opened three times in frames four though seven to leave the door wide open for top seed Jason Workman. Jason took advantage of his opportunity with a turkey in frames five through seven and was never threatened from there as he went on to win by the final score of 220-188.

Champion's Profile: Jason Workman is 22 years old and single. He is employed as a waiter at a Lone Star Restaurant. Jason has been bowling since age seven and currently bowls league at Bertrand Lanes. He has a high game of 279 and a 679 high series to his credit. Jason was rolling a Brunswick Zone drilled by Jim Erickson at Sunset Bowl. He credits tips from Gary Knockel as having helped him with his game. Jason thanked his girlfriend Shara and his parents for all their support. He also thanked the ABT and Sunset Bowl for having the tournament. Jason said his winnings would be used for Christmas presents.

congratulations jason!

Tournament Notes: Congratulations to Eric Willhoite, who won $500 by breaking a 285 Pot. Nice bowling, Eric.
