Charlie Ginn won his first ABT Masters title
with a 287-229 victory over Pat Cornell at Sunset Bowl.
Bobby Wright opened the stepladder finals by
defeating Rick Riddle 249-214. He then defeated Rich Matson 213-178 before
falling to Charlie Ginn 257-253. Next up for Ginn was top seed Pat
Cornell, who had just rolled a super 805 series in the semis. The title
match was much closer than the final score would indicate. Bowl bowlers
hit the pocket with every shot but Charlie carried on 11 out of 12 to
emerge with the 287-229 victory.
