Rich Flood won his first ABT Masters title
by defeating Patti Gleason 243-217 in our Kick-Off event at Espo's
Entertainment Center.
Rich was the top qualifier for the top
twelve finals, which earned him a bye in the first two rounds of match
play. In round three he squeaked by Kermit Crowe 240-238 to earn his berth
in the championship match. Patti qualified second, which earned her a bye
in round one. She then advanced by defeating Bob Hjelm 245-194 and Bobby
Bass 228-222. The lead changed hands several times in the title match, but
when Patti left a 4-6-10 rail in the seventh frame, Rich took the lead for
good, stringing a five-bagger in frames six through ten to win by the
final score of 243-217.
Champion's
Profile: Rich Flood is 35 years old and employed as a manufacturing
engineer for MPC Products. He is married to Kolette and they have two

He was using a Firestorm drilled by Tom Rippentropf in Rockford. Rich said

game. He thanked the ABT, Espo's, and Back to Basics Pro Shop. His
winnings will be used for Christmas bills.
