Chris Hrischuk won his first ABT Masters
title by defeating Bill A. Brown 264-214 at Sunset Bowl.
Scott Stolz opened the stepladder finals by
defeating Angelo Pancotto 257-251. Rick Riddle then eliminated Scott
263-241. In match three, Bill Brown defeated Riddle 43.2-25 in a 2-frame
roll-off after they tied at 208. Top seed Chris Hrischuk started the title
match with a turkey, but a washout in frame four and a double by Brown in
frames three and four gave Brown an 11-pin lead at that point. Hrischuk
righted himself after that and strung a seven-bagger to close out the
match as he cruised to the final 264-214 victory.
