*** hrischuk takes first at sunset ***

Chris Hrischuk won his first ABT Masters title by defeating Bill A. Brown 264-214 at Sunset Bowl.

Scott Stolz opened the stepladder finals by defeating Angelo Pancotto 257-251. Rick Riddle then eliminated Scott 263-241. In match three, Bill Brown defeated Riddle 43.2-25 in a 2-frame roll-off after they tied at 208. Top seed Chris Hrischuk started the title match with a turkey, but a washout in frame four and a double by Brown in frames three and four gave Brown an 11-pin lead at that point. Hrischuk righted himself after that and strung a seven-bagger to close out the match as he cruised to the final 264-214 victory.

Champion's Profile: Chris Hrischuk is 33 years old and single. He is employed as a boilermaker for Lakes Mechanical Maintenance. Chris has been bowling for 15 years and currently bowls leagues at Guttormsen's and Surfside Lanes. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 816 to his credit. Chris was using a Lane 1 Cherry Carbide Bomb drilled by Ed Seliga at Dick Beltoya's Pro Shop. Chris credits Dick Beltoya and Ed Seliga as having helped him with his game. Chris said he would use part of his winnings for some new equipment and that it felt really good to finally win one.

congratulations chris!
