Ebel then eliminated Curtis Barthel 197-175 before running into Dorian Spivey, who uncorked the best game of his life to defeat Ebel 298-210. In the championship match Spivey spared in the first three frames then doubled in the fourth and fifth to take a 21-pin lead over top seed Robert Bertoncini.
