Charles Chatt won his first ABT Masters
title by defeating top seed Matt Sanchez 248-231 at Wheaton Bowl.
Jim Wagenaar opened the stepladder finals by
defeating Jason Anders 234-212. He then defeated Joe Spoonmoore 241-164
before falling to Charles Chatt 231-184. The title match was close for
seven frames with Matt Sanchez holding a four-pin lead at that point.
Chatt then rattled off a four-bagger to come from behind and pull out the
248-231 victory.
Champion's
Profile: Charles Chatt is 28 years old and married to Linda. He is
employed as a technical consultant. Charles has been bowling for 21 years
and currently bowls league at Lombard Lanes. He has a high game of 300 and
a 770 high series to his credit. Charles was using a Track Freak drilled
by Ed Moores. He thanked God for his abilities, his wife and family for
their support, and the ABT and Wheaton Bowl for having the event. Charles
said his winnings would be used for the ABC Nationals.
