*** lebaron earns black shirt at bertrands***

Tom LeBaron earned his "black shirt" by winning his second ABT Classic title in our Fathers Day event at Bertrand Lanes.

Miguel Diaz opened the stepladder finals by defeating David Nekola 223-188. Wayne Crumpton then ousted Diaz 253-243. Cesar Benavides then eliminated Crumpton 226-187 to move into the title match against top seed Tom LeBaron. LeBaron had a 22-pin handicap advantage to start the match but Benavides used a turkey in frames 2-4 to even up the match. In the sixth Cesar left a rail and Tom spared to retake the lead by 13 pins. Tom then rattled off a 4-bagger in frames 7-10 to pull away to the final 250-203 victory.

Champion's Profile: Tom LeBaron is a 37-year-old real estate salesman. He has been bowling for about 7 years and bowls league at Bertrand Lanes. Tom has a high game of 232 and a 674 high series to his credit. He was using a Brunswick Zone drilled by Jim Erickson at Sunset Bowl. Tom said that Mike Maguire has been helping him to improve his game. He thanked the staff at Bertrands, the ABT staff, and his league sponsor Clover Bar and Grill. Tom said his winnings would be used to pay bills.

congratulations Tom!
