Donald Pease won his first ABT Classic title
by defeating Rich Manno 231-188 at Suburbanite Bowl.
Tony Sokolowski opened the stepladder finals
by defeating Lee LeClaire 212-202. Allan Pecka then ousted Sokolowski
245-188. In match three Donald Pease defeated Allen Pecka 31-29.8 in a
two-frame roll-off after they tied at 206 to advance to the title match
against top seed Rich Manno. Pease started the championship match with a
turkey to open a 21-pin lead. Manno was never able to line up on the
finals pair allowing Pease to cruise to the 231-188 final score.
Champion's
Profile: Donald Pease is 52 years old and retired. He started bowling
again two years ago after a lengthy layoff. Donald currently bowls league
at Eden Lanes and has a high game of 265 to go along with a 715 high
series. He was using an old Brunswick LT-48 drilled by Andy's Pro Shop in
Chicago. Donald thanked Josh Rudd for his support. He also thanked the ABT
and Suburbanite Bowl for having the tournament. Donald said his winnings
would be used for a trip to the boat to do a little gambling.
