Gabe Rodriguez won his first ABT Masters
title by defeating top seed Chad Kloss 249-216 at Brunswick Zone
Lakehurst.
In match one of the finals Gabe Rodriguez
279 defeated Dean Mueller 185 and Jim Kedroski 163. In match two Gabe
eliminated Dennis Smith 272-178. In match three Gabe ousted Rick Hara
301-195. That gave Gabe an outstanding 810 series to carry into the title
match against top seed Chad Kloss. The championship match was much closer
than the final score would indicate. Both bowlers missed the pocket only
once but Gabe was able to outscore Chad as he went on to win by the final
score of 249-216.
Champion's Profile: Gabe Rodriguez is years old and employed by Jobs
Printing & Mailing. He has been bowling since age four and bowls leagues
at Bertrand, Guttormsen, and Hawthorn Lanes. Gabe has a high game of 300
to go along with a 817 high series. He was rolling a Lane 1 Cherry Bomb
drilled by GW Gregg. Gabe credits John Miller, Tom Rodriguez, and Rob
Cunningham as having helped him to improve his game. He thanked Colleen
Ervin, Gary Knockel, and Mike Tucker for their support along with the ABT
and Lakehurst for having the event. Gabe said his winnings would help pay
for the five leagues that he is bowling in this year.
congratulations
gabe!
